Mmesoma Okonkwo : a 17 year old who became the best student in the world in English Language as a second language
Mmesoma Okonkwo, 17, from Anambra, who won the 'Top in the World' title for English IGSCE as a second language admitted that taking six theory-based subjects was intimidating.
"We took the exam in May or June of last year; the majority of us took six courses. I thereby earned the title of top English student in the world among the millions of pupils who took the exam. English exam was only theoretical. There wasn't any goal. All three components were theories, according to Okonkwo. "For the exam, we had to complete writing, listening, and speaking tasks. My favorite language was English. Writing the exam and preparing for it were both enjoyable.
When questioned about her exam preparation, she responded, "We would spend time doing past questions on the Cambridge website and also have mock exams that are similar to IGSCE. Our teachers will make us pick a few topics on essay writing and team us up.”
Okonkwo, who intends to study Business Management, described the course as versatile, saying she is passionate about doing business.
